Kicking off a beloved series that has now surpassed 100 releases, it all began here with this stunning double-header highlighting two essential Brazilian gems from Claudia and Cizinha.
Claudia’s ‘Deixa Eu Dizer’ is a must-have Brazilian record — an MPB classic elevated by her timeless voice, which soars with grace and emotion. Famously sampled by Marcelo D2 on the Brazilian hip hop anthem ‘Desabafo’, the track is taken from Claudia’s breathtaking album of the same name. Before this reissue, it had never been released on 7”, making it an especially treasured addition to the series.
On the B side, ‘Pra Fazer Um Samba’ by Cizinha is a sun-drenched, heartfelt samba that had long been a favourite at Mr Bongo HQ. Originally released on Rozenblit in 1968, it remains a rare and beautiful cut. With shimmering horns, delicate flutes, and crisp percussion, the arrangement forms the perfect backdrop for Cizinha’s sweet, grooving vocal delivery.
This landmark release not only launched the Brazil 45’s series but set the bar for the impeccable curation and deep musical love that would define it.
