DESCRIPTION

Marcos Valle is back again, this time with the almighty Estrelar — his most well-known disco/boogie track, co-written with Leon Ware. With added hints of Yacht Rock, the song became iconic not only for its irresistible groove but also for its video, filmed in Rio in the early 1980s, which is particularly special and well worth 5 minutes of your time. Marketed as "workout music" at the time, Estrelar became Valle’s best-selling record, with approximately 90,000 copies sold. The track is taken from his 1983 self-titled LP released on Som Livre.

Alleluia brings together two legends of Brazilian Boogie — Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti — whose self-titled 1982 LP epitomizes the sound of early ’80s Rio de Janeiro. Floating synths and keys ride over razor-sharp samba, jazz, and 2-step drum grooves, backed by lush layers of horns. The production is polished to perfection — shiny, bright, and ultra-clean. Alleluia is a mid-tempo groover with rich horns, guitar, synth, and vocal lines — an ideal end-of-the-night jam. It was released on the aforementioned LP and also as a 7" single in 1983.
