In 2018, Four Flies Records unveiled Africa Oscura, an unearthed suite of recordings by Giuliano Sorgini, described by many as the “dark side” of his masterpiece Zoo Folle. Mysterious, immersive, and entirely self-performed by Sorgini in his Rome studio in 1974, Africa Oscura quickly became a cult classic among DJs, collectors, and lovers of library music and electronic experimentation.
To honor the album’s futuristic minimalism and eerie allure, Four Flies assembled a lineup of Italy’s most visionary electronic producers for a 2-part remix project. This second 12” installment pushes the original's cinematic moods even further into Balearic, tribal, downtempo, and dub territory.

On Side A, Jolly Mare teams up with Sorgini himself for Afro Sortilegio, a dark funk-fueled spell of psychedelic grooves and hypnotic rhythms.

pAd delivers a lush and playful “Mondo Bali Mix” of Notte Nella Savana, blending tropical rhythms with vintage exotica and cosmic textures.

Quiroga & Dario Bass offer the “Lamaro Mix” of Oasi Nella Giungla, dripping with groove, sun-warped atmospheres and tribal percussions.

Painé returns with a “Desert Dub Mix” of Miraggio, transforming it into a shimmering mirage of deep basslines and airy echo trails.
Each track is a portal — honoring Sorgini’s mystical visions of an imagined continent while reframing them for today’s dancefloors and open-air rituals.
