"Curating tracks for a Mr Bongo Record Club compilation is always a joy, and for Volume 4, we aimed to make this edition extra special—like a cherished mixtape or playlist that resonates deeply. With the phrase “Music is My Sanctuary” taking on even more significance for many, we selected an eclectic mix of tracks that span genres from Brazilian and African sounds to soul, funk, and disco."

This compilation features timeless gems from artists like Azwon, Cindy & The Playmates, and Zé Roberto, as well as an exciting new progression: the inclusion of contemporary artists such as Matthew Tavares (of BADBADNOTGOOD), Wax Machine, and DJ Format & The Simonsound. These modern tracks were originally released as limited pressings or only available digitally, and we’re thrilled to share them with a wider audience. These additions complement and enhance the flow of the compilation, offering both a sense of nostalgia and an exciting new perspective.

With support from the likes of Hunee, Antal, DJ Marky, Volcov, Jazzanova, J Rocc, Carlos Nino, Laurent Garnier, Benji B, and more, we hope these seventeen tracks, in their tempo and style, take you on a musical journey that moves your feet, sparks a trip, or brings back happy memories.
