RRC Music Co., Collection M Gallery and Mr Bongo come together for a special exhibition celebrating RAMMELLZEE, featuring a selection of photographs by Dutch photographer Peter Gramberg.

The exhibition brings together Gramberg’s Black & White Series and his King Size portrait, created from his 1987 studio session with Rammellzee in Amsterdam.

Photographs from this body of work have since been featured in major Rammellzee exhibitions internationally, including Racing for Thunder at Red Bull Arts New York and Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The portraits will also be featured in the upcoming Graffiti exhibition at Centraal Museum Utrecht, opening October 10.

To mark the occasion, RRC Music × Collection M Gallery × Mr Bongo will present a special limited edition of Peter Gramberg’s Rammellzee King Size portrait, produced in just 100 copies, individually hand-numbered and signed by the photographer. This exhibition and accompanying print release are presented with the support and approval of the Estate of Rammellzee.

The print will be available together with Mr Bongo’s reissue of Rammellzee & K-Rob’s legendary 1983 12” “Beat Bop” — one of the defining records connecting early hip-hop, graffiti and downtown New York art, originally issued with artwork by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Mr Bongo’s edition reproduces the original Tartown artwork and includes the full vocal and instrumental versions.
