DESCRIPTION

Beat Konducta Vol. 3-4: In India brings together two installments of Madlib’s acclaimed instrumental series, originally released separately in 2007. Inspired by Bollywood soundtracks and Indian recordings from the 1960s through the 1980s, the project transforms cinematic strings, vocal fragments, percussion and psychedelic melodies into Madlib’s unmistakably dusty, off-kilter hip-hop production.

Long out of print, the two volumes are reunited here as a 2LP set, highlighting Madlib’s adventurous approach to sampling and beat-making. The record moves from brief, atmospheric sketches to heavier funk-driven grooves, creating a vivid instrumental journey through his interpretation of Indian film music.
