DESCRIPTION
By 1983 a malaise had overtaken the DC hardcore scene. Shows became more violent and founding bands moved to the sidelines. 1985 brought a renewed spirit, often referred to as Revolution Summer. It included a handful of bands that preferred smaller venues and a personal take on punk. Embrace, formed by Ian MacKaye and members of Faith, was part of this renewal.
