With over two decades of boundary-defying releases on Schema Records, Gerardo Frisina has established himself as a visionary at the intersection of jazz, electronic, and Latin rhythms. In Sight Vol. 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2020’s Moving Ahead and 2023’s In Sight Vol. 1, marks a new creative peak—melding psych-tinged minimal dance with deep spiritual grooves and cosmic atmospheres.
The album opens with four brand-new compositions that are among Frisina’s most expansive and structurally ambitious to date. From the shimmering mysticism of “Uzuri” to the layered, downtempo intensity of “Ya’aburnee” (evoking shades of Four Tet and Trentemøller), Frisina crafts soundscapes that are as cerebral as they are rhythmically infectious.
Club-conscious cuts return in the form of evolved arrangements: “Mindoro (Alternative)” grooves with a new pulse; “Tarab (Dub Version)” deepens the atmosphere with echo-drenched textures; and “Mystical Funk (Album Version)” builds into a glorious climax with extended Fender Rhodes and electric guitar solos.
