Seam splits on record jackets are a common occurrence with vinyl: we cannot issue refunds or replacements for seam splits. DESCRIPTION
Mike Ladd returns with Nonechosen, his first solo album in more than a decade. Released through Backwoodz Studioz, the record combines his literary, experimental approach to hip-hop with atmospheric production and themes surrounding climate collapse, empire, Black history, survival, family and mortality.
Ladd produced the majority of the album himself before handing the nearly completed project to Preservation, whose additional touches helped shape the final sound. Across 16 tracks, Nonechosen moves between fragmented beat sketches, spoken-word intensity and deeply reflective writing, with contributions from longtime collaborators including No Surrender, Tom De Geeter, Mankwe Ndosi and others.
