With The Beauty of Barbarossaplatz, Californian rap veteran Planet Asia and German producer Flying Lindus present an extraordinary collaboration that combines boom-bap roots with cinematic sound design and urban poetry. The album is now available for the first time as an exclusive vinyl edition—limited to 500 copies worldwide, high-quality production, and a must-have for collectors and true music fans.
The work was created between the streets of Los Angeles and vibrant Cologne—more specifically, near Barbarossaplatz. The songs reflect the contrasts and similarities of both worlds: melancholic jazz loops and dusty drums meet Planet Asia's razor-sharp lyrics, delivered with the aplomb of an MC who has been at the forefront of conscious rap for over two decades.
Flying Lindus—known for his organic samples and meticulous production—creates the ideal soundscape for Planet Asia's flow. The tracks are simultaneously raw and refined, nostalgic and futuristic. The Beauty of Barbarossaplatz isn't just a homage to the Golden Era sound—it's a statement that this sound is still relevant in 2025.
