Seam splits on record jackets are a common occurrence with vinyl: we cannot issue refunds or replacements for seam splits. DESCRIPTION
Mike James Kirkland teams up with Monophonics for The Business, a rich, horn-driven soul record that blends classic 1970s influences with modern production. Kirkland’s warm, expressive vocals sit at the centre of arrangements filled with strings, horns, organ and deep grooves, while Monophonics bring their trademark cinematic soul sound.
Produced and arranged by Kelly Finnigan, the album moves between romantic ballads, socially conscious songwriting and uplifting cuts. Highlights include “Precious,” “Where Did We Go Wrong,” “The Business,” “Joyriding” and “Glowin’.” The LP is released through Ubiquity Recordings.
